POUSH Talks- "Controlling atmospheres: odor as a policy of action"

The (very) forthcoming lecture series accompanying the Par la Fumée exhibition at POUSH (PARIS) - that Sandra Barré curated - . Entitled “Contrôler les atmosphères, l'odeur comme politique d'action” (“Controlling atmospheres: odor as a policy of action)  are to start next week.
Par La Fumée, is on view in Paris until December 15th.

The series of talks was conceived with superbe curator Sandra Barré. It aims to question the olfactory environment in the West and to reinvent atmospheric and olfactory norms today. We propose to discuss, with several speakers, the concept we call “white atmospheres”, here defined as the atmospheric dimension established since the 18th century, at a minimum, aiming to establish standardized, and therefore discriminatory, hygiene and ambiences, which materialize in the air we breathe.

The first will take place next Tuesday, 10/29 at 6:30pm and will exceptionally unfold in two speeches:

- Sandra Barré & Alix Hugonnier - Introductory session : Western norms, “white atmospheres”, a proposal for scratching control (in French)

and at 7:30pm

- Suzel Balez - Sensory impact of air manipulation in our interiors (in French)

Wednesday, November 6, 6:30pm

Julie C. Fortier - Breathing in the landscape (in French)
